Use your favorite GPS running app (such as Nike+, RunKeeper, and MapMyRun) to post your runs to Twitter and you can:

* See how you rank within your county, state, country or worldwide.

* See how you rank against your friends no matter where they are running.

* Interact with other users in the area-specific chat rooms.

* Find a nearby training partner or share information on local races and meet-ups.

To rank your runs, use your favorite GPS run tracking app (such as Nike+, RunKeeper and MapMyRun) to post your runs to Twitter. RunRanker will pick these up and use them to rank your distances against other users. You don't need to stick with the same GPS tracking app (you could use Nike Plus and later switch to RunKeeper or MapMyRun), just ensure that your runs are posted to Twitter.

Within each geographical area, you can see how you compare with other users within the current year, month or week.
