The Pothole Reporting App. What is it? It's a simple application for Android smart phones (well, you're running it on your phone), and it allows you (the user) to upload information about pothols, manholes/drains that are raised or sunken, debris, poor road surfaces, or ruts on roads.What happens is, when you upload the information, it is logged to a map, and it allows others (hopefully in councils, etc) to view where the problems are, what they are, and when it was logged. It was initially designed for use in my home town (Cambridge, UK), but I thought that it might be worthwhile see what the state of roads are across the globe. No personal information is uploaded, so ALL information is anonymous. Easy really. Now, this app is free to download, and will be updated with more hazards to be reported. Big thanks go to: http://www.fillthathole.org.uk/ for having the idea in the first place. I'm just creating a simple, Android based version of their work (hope they don't mind!)
