Launch Google Latitude directly using this app or the shortcuts it can create. No more launching Google Maps, then navigating to Google Latitude. Checking in is now just a couple of taps away, without the need to load Google Maps first.
From this app, you can directly access or create shortcuts on your home screen to:
- Friends List
- Check In
- Location History
- Manage Places
On September 19, 2012, a Google Maps update removed the popular Latitude shortcut that launched the Google Latitude Friends List, annoying many Latitude users. However, the programming hooks (called Intents) still remain, it's just the shortcut that was removed. This app unlocks those Latitude hooks and creates shortcuts to directly access them, or you may launch them through this app.
Set up direct access to Google Latitude three ways. Launch Google Latitude directly from this app from the Launchers tap. Create shortcuts to Google Latitude functionality with the Shortcuts tab. You may also create shortcuts on your home screen by visiting your Widgets app list, finding Latitude Shortcuts, and installing the shortcut, choosing the functionality you want.
THIS APP RELIES ON UNDOCUMENTED AND UNSUPPORTED METHODS TO EXECUTE GOOGLE MAPS AND LATITUDE. ANY FUTURE UPDATE TO GOOGLE MAPS MAY MODIFY OR REMOVE THESE METHODS, LEAVING THIS APP USELESS.
