Pump Pressure Calculator is an android app written by a wildland firefighter that calculates friction loss, head and pump pressure. This app has two parts – a Pump Pressure Calculator and an Friction Loss calculator. The Pump Pressure Calculator will output what PSI a pump needs to be set at to have correct working nozzle pressure in a hose lay.

The inputs it uses are :

- length of hose lay

- diameter of hose

- nozzle PSI

- GPM

- elevation

The Pump Pressure Calculator will output:

- pump pressure

- head pressure

- total friction loss

- friction loss per 100’ of hose

The Friction Loss Calculator calculates friction loss in a 100’ section of hose and takes only two inputs:

- diameter of hose

- GPM

The Friction Loss Calculator will output:

-friction loss per 100’ of hose

At this time this app supports hose diameters of ¾”, 1”, 1 ½”, 1 ¾” and 2”
