The cuisine of Puerto Rico is called Cocina Criolla, which is inspired by cooking habits of Spain, Latin America, Africa and the Taínos. Many tropical roots and tubers like Yautía (Taro) and especially Yuca from which casabe bread is made have links to eating habits of the Taíno and Arawak people.
